A River Runs Through It

I personally have no experiences with rivers as such, so I am not the most qualified to write on where they come from or where they go. I am a boatman of a different sort, however, as I am constantly flowing down the rivers of humanity called our roads.

The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.
-- J.R.R. Tolkien

At night, when you are looking out over a road it looks exactly like a river of light. White headlights heading one direction like the Mississippi, red tail lights heading like a counter-current.

I don't often like humanity, but that is an impressive sight to see.

Be well, all!
